The village in the Hnilecká dolina valley was formed by the merger of 7 mining settlements (Palcmanská Maša, Prostredný Hámor, Biele Vody, Mlynky, Havrania Dolina, Rakovec, Sykavka), today interconnected by cycling trail. The first written mention is from 1850. Till 1960 Mlynky was a settlement of the town Spišská Nová Ves.

MONUMENTS: The rich history of mining and metallurgy is represented by typical mining houses, a headframe of the Leopold mine shaft and a mining knocking tower/ belfry, towards which leads a short educational trail.

ATTRACTIONS: remains of a dam of small water reservoir and in the country noticeable underground tunnel leading to the first small hydro power plant in Slovakia (still functional) in the part called Rakovec (from 1912), the entrance to the Zejmarská roklina gorge (the only gorge in the southern part of the Slovak Paradise) in the part Biele Vody, ski resorts, cross-country skiing trails
