The counting of attendance has been performed by the Slovak Paradise National Park Administration since 1992 as part of monitoring the development of tourism in the Slovak Paradise. It is implemented in summer and in winter as daily attendance, from which the average annual traffic is then calculated. Attendance is monitored on hiking trails, that will enter the National Park and visit to the Dobšinskej ice cave (in summer). The number of visitors in catering and accommodation establishments is not monitored by this census.
